Patricia Lynn
(Bicking, Funkey) Klass was born on her mother's 25th birthday, Sunday, September 28, 1947, in Monroe Mercy Hospital.
She was the first child of Wilma (Heiden) and
William "Bill" Bicking.
She graduated from Monroe High School in 1965 as a member of the largest class in history with 565 fellow students.
After graduation from high school, Pat worked at Union Camp Paper Co. in
Monroe.

On November 9, 1968, she
married Fred Funkey at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. The couple
lived in Redford, Michigan before moving to Fred's hometown, Houghton,
Michigan, where they began their family and Pat worked at home while
raising their two sons.
They
bought a boat and began running Lighthouse tours from Copper Harbor
Marinas where Pat worked as harbor master for the Department of Natural Resources. In 1981 she began working as a secretary for the U.P.
Power Company in Houghton, Michigan.
Pat and Fred divorced in
1982.
On October 6, 1984, Pat married John Wayne Klass in St. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church in Hancock, Michigan.
They also had a daughter and a son. John was born Wednesday, September 1, 1943 in Waukegan, Illinois. He is a 1962 graduate of Waukegan High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Michigan Technological University in 1966. He began working at U.P. Power Co. that year and
worked as Manager of the Risk & Safety Dept.
Pat enjoyed gardening and collecting dreamsicle figurines. She also
made craft works including plastic canvas, along with some embroidery and crocheting.
On May 16, 2000, Pat passed away at the
age of 52 in Houghton. She is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in
Houghton.

Margie Berns, sister, Sharon Sunderland and an unidentified boy in
front. The picture was taken at a
Heiden Family Reunion at
the
Grange Hall in
Grape,
