Baird Getty was born on October 7, 1867 in Helena Township,
Antrim County,
Michigan. He was the second child of
William, Sr and Adeline (Baird)
Getty.
On October 30, 1893, he married Clara
B. Cronin in Kalkaska and they had one child before divorcing.

Clarence Getty
George served in the 34th Michigan
Regiment during the Spanish American War in 1898 in the Philippines.
He was a cornetist in a military band.
After the war, he married Alice Alma
Rattray who was from Grand Rapids, Michigan. After their marriage,
they moved to Puyallup, Washington and lived for a while with his
brother, William John Getty, Jr.
George was employed as a bookkeeper for the Orillia Lumber Company
in Orillia, Washington for a few years.
They had three children:

George died on September 21, 1939 in
Tacoma Pierce, King County, Washington. He was accidentally
asphyxiated by leaking "illuminating gas".
