Elias Oliver was born on October 29, 1846 in the town of Rome in Macomb County, Michigan. He was the son of Simon, Sr. and Mary (Wright) Oliver.

He married Alice Ann Smith on September 1, 1869 in Ridgeway Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. Alice was born in 1847 in Rome and died in 1910 in Ridgeway Township, Lenawee County. Michigan.

They had seven children:

Elias died on July 11, 1923 in Dundee, Michigan and was buried in Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway Township, Lenawee County.

Elias, age 4 years, was living with his parents, Simon, Sr (44) and Mary (40) Oliver in Tecumseh, Michigan. His siblings were George (17), Elizabeth (16), William (15), Edward (13), Henry (12), Dianna (10), James (8) and Mary (7).

Elias (24) was living with his wife, Alice (22) in Ridgeway, Lenawee County, Michigan. His future brother-in-law, William Randal (21) was also living at that address.
Living in Osceola, Osceola County, Michigan. He was 34 and his wife, Alice was 31. They had five children: Nona M. Oliver (10), Charles Oliver (8), Lena Oliver (6), Gertrude Oliver (4) and Bertha Oliver (1).

Now living in Ridgeway Township. Fifty two year old Elias and Alice were living with their children: Charles (28), Lottie (16) and Grace (13).

Still in Ridgeway, sixty three year old Elias and Alice were living with their son, Charles (38).

Elias, seventy three years old, and his son, Charles (47) were living as boarders with Fred and Nettie Hansen and their four year old son, Carl.
