George C.R. Behm was born on Tuesday, September 26, 1876 in Atlantic County, New Jersey. He was the son of George W. and Sophia (Kempker) Behm.

In the 1880 census, George was living with his parents and siblings at 5 Upshure Avenue in Philadelphia.

On Thursday, April 30, 1896 at the age of 19, George married Ida May Brill at St John's Lutheran Church in Philadelphia.

An 1899 document has George working as a "marocco" finisher at Mitchell & Pearson's in Philadelphia. He was living at 879 Orkney Street at that time.

George C.R. and his younger brother, Grover, were living together at 2023 N. Marshall Street in Philadelphia in 1910. Their mother, Sophia, was living there also.

In 1916, George married his second wife, Viola Sarah Roop. They lived at 2205 Gaul Street in Philadelphia in 1918 and he was working as a riveter at Hog Island, Delaware County, PA. In 1920, their residence was at 1021 Orleans Street.

George C.R. Behm died on July 27, 1929 at the age of 52.

Viola passed away in May of 1968.
