Mae V. (Rosenthal) Ryan was born on Thursday, February 24, 1916 at 261 Montana Street in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of Marie Georgianna (Behm) and Edward E. Rosenthal.

In the 1920 census, Mae was living with her parents and siblings at 2032 N. 7th Street in Philadelphia. By 1930, they were living at 149 Lehigh Avenue in the city.

In 1940, she married John J. Ryan, Jr in Philadelphia. They had two children.

The 1940 census lists Mae as a stenographer in a private office making $850 per year.

Mae died on May 12, 1992 at the age of 76.

John, Jr. died on February 19, 2009 at Richboro Rehab & Nursing Center in Richboro, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was 93 years of age and was buried in Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, PA. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an electrician in civilian life.
