Anna Elizabeth "Annie" Rehmann was born on September 16, 1874 in New Germany (now Egg Harbor City), Buena Vista Twp, Atlantic County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Heinrich Frederick and Christina (Roller) Rehmann.

In the 1880 census, she was listed with her family as living on Virginia Avenue in Atlantic City, NJ.
