Victor L. Doerfel was born circa 1909 in Pennsylvania as the son of Edward and Emma (McCord) Doerfel.

In the 1910 census, he was living with his parents and siblings at 26 Henry in Palmyra Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. The residence was listed as 215 Henry Street, South Side, in the 1920 census and back to 26 in the 1930 report. Victor was working as a freight claim clerk for a railroad at an annual salary of $1,565 in 1940.

Circa 1946, he married Sally.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers, Covenant Masonic Lodge 16, Collingswood Consistory and the Crescent Temple Shrine.

Victor died on October 17, 1990 at Cinnaminson Manor Nursing Home in Cinnaminson, Burlington County, New Jersey. He was 81 years old and is buried in Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
