  DUNDEE
— Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Berns of Dundee observed their 70th wedding anniversary
Tuesday. Mr. Berns married Madelyn E. Hanson May 3, 1941, at the St. Matthew
Lutheran Church parsonage in Raisinville Township. Pastor Harry Long officiated.
They celebrated their anniversary Tuesday with a
family dinner in Monroe.
Their children and their spouses are Karen and
Roger Wheaton of Ann Arbor; Lauren and Debra Berns of Moultrie, Ga.; Allen and
Barbara Berns of Dundee; Margie Berns and her husband, Tony Silva, of West
Lafayette, Ind., and Gwendolyn White of Alexandria, Va.
They also have 11 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Berns graduated eighth grade from Bridge
School in Raisinville Township. He worked 30 years for Ford Motor Co. in
Ypsilanti, retiring in 1985. |
