He was born on March 7, 1934, in
Michigan, to Lewis John Heiden and Zina (Robinson) Heiden.
Edward had a long and fulfilling career
at Fisher Body, where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1986. A
man of many talents, he was a jack-of-all-trades who was always willing
to lend a helping hand. Ed was known for his heart of gold and his
unwavering love for his family.
He enjoyed square and ballroom dancing,
and he took great pride in building his own home at the age of 65. He
was a hardworking man who always put his family first. His presence will
be greatly missed, but his memory will live on through the many lives he
touched with his kindness, generosity, and devotion.
Edward is survived by his loving and
devoted wife of 72 years, Dolores Thomas Heiden. He was the father of
Douglas (Marilou) Heiden, Deborah (David) Steinman, and Denise (Rick)
Smith. Grandfather of Joshua Steinman, Wendy Heiden, Christy (Randy)
Heiden-Bene, Andrea Smith, Scott (Amy) Smith, and Shannon (Joshua)
Delles. Great-grandfather of Sophia Delles, Hunter Heiden, Brianna,
Bailey, and Bradley Bene. Brother of Aletha I. (the late Raymond) Watson
and the late Herman (the late Lydia) Heiden, the late Bennie (the late
Colleen) Heiden, the late Betty (the late Johnny) Hubble, the late
Virginia (the late Orvest) Davis, the late Dora Heiden and the late
Laura (the late Danny) Hudson.
A funeral service for Edward will take
place on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM, with a one-hour prior
visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes
Lansing Chapel, 900 E Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. A graveside
service will occur on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at East
Lawn Memory Gardens, 2400 Bennett Rd., Okemos, MI 48864.
