Dianne Marie Houpt was born on Monday, October 23, 1944 in Monroe Hospital and was the fourth child of Wm Frank and Helen (Henning) Heiden.

She graduated from Dundee High School in 1962.

On April 3, 1965, she became the bride of Harlan Everett Houpt of Dundee. They lived on Far Road in Dundee Township and had two children.

Dianne was an Executive Secretary at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She enjoyed reading and working cross word puzzles. Harlan enjoyed gardening. Both Harlan and Dianne looked forward to the month of March when they headed south for a spring vacation

Harlan, who was born Monday, January 29, 1940, graduated from Dundee High School in 1958. He was the owner of Houpt Construction Company in Dundee prior to his death at the age of 71 while they were at Port Charlotte, Florida.

Dianne passed away also at the age of 71 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she had been living with her daughter. Both she and Harlan are buried at the Ridgeway Cemetery in Lenawee County, Michigan.

Dianne was a fun-loving person and I always enjoyed her company when we were kids playing in the yard or as adults when she helped pull together information for the 1995 The Heiden Family book. She never passed up a chance to remind me that her name was spelled with two "n's".
