Norma Marie (Miller) Ballard was born on June 8, 1924 in Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Michigan. She was the second child of Esther (Rambow) and Albert Miller.

A 1941 graduate of Ida High School, she married Homer Russell Ballard on May 1, 1948. They had three daughters.

Norma worked for the State of Michigan Employment Security Commission in Monroe, Michigan.

Norma died on October 15, 2012 at the age of 88 and is buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee, Michigan.

Homer died on July 31, 1967 at the age of 44 and is also buried at Maple Grove.
