Basil Lavere Yettaw was born on February 17, 1910 in Central Lake in Antrim County, Michigan.  He was the son of Lottie Leticia (Hanley) and Dennis Yettaw.

He was married to Miriam Louise Fuller.

Basil died on March 14, 1988 in Pinellas County, Florida and is buried in Clearwater, Florida.

Miriam who was born in 1912 in Illinois, died in 1978 and is also buried in Clearwater.
