 George
H. Kunkel was born on Wednesday, November 16,
1927 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of
Ethel
May (Behm) and Rinaldo Kunkel.
In the 1930
census, he was living with his parents and
siblings at 1083 Lois in
Camden City, Camden County,
New Jersey. By 1935, he and his parents
resided at 207 Church Street, South
Merchantville Village, Delaware Township in
Camden County where they also live in 1940.
On Saturday,
November 27, 1948, he married Frances Bilderback
at Bethany Methodist Episcopal Church in
Camden City, Camden County,
New Jersey. At the time, George was living at
2200 Gross in Camden City.
He
served in the U.S. Army during the early years
of the Korean Conflict. Later he was a member of
the American Legion Post 372 in Cherry Hill in
Camden County. George also belonged to the
Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 and was former
director of their Fife and Drum Corps.
They
had two children:

Lauren (Kunkel) Dace
George died on
December 8, 1988 at West Jersey Hospital in
Marlton,
Burlington County,
NJ. He was 61 years old and is buried in
the Bethel Memorial Park in Pannsauken, NJ.
Prior to his death, he had been living in Cherry
Hill in Camden County. |
