George Walter Rehmann was born Tuesday, September 27, 1898 in Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey. He was the third of the six children of George Charles Conrad and Ida Emmaline (White) Rehmann.

At various time in his adult life, he worked in a glass works, as a laborer in a shipyard and as a farm laborer. In the 1930s he lived with his brother, Leon, in Monroe Township, Gloucester County.

He died of a heart attack in November of 1952 at the age of 54 and is buried in the Methodist Cemetery in Williamstown.
