Bertha P. (Moore) Heinecke was born circa 1892 in New Jersey. She was the only child of Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Rehmann) and Nathaniel Moore.

In 1910, she was living with her mother on Railroad Avenue in Hammonton, Atlantic County, New Jersey and was listed as a shoemaker in a shoe factory. By 1920, Bertha was living with her uncle and aunt, Edward and Kate Heinecke at 1148 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia. She was now a "seamer" in a shoe factory.

Circa 1921, she married William C. Heinecke.

The 1930 census shows Bertha and her husband living at 1313 Hewson Street in Philadelphia with her mother, Minnie. In 1940, they were still at this address and William was listed as a car builder at a traction company with annual income of $1,500.
