Louise I. (Heinecke) Sowden was born on Friday February 12, 1904 in New Jersey. She was the daughter of Edward and Kate (Rehmann) Heinecke.

In the 1910 census, she was living with her parents on Front Street in Hammonton, Atlantic County, New Jersey. On the 1920 report, the family was at 1148 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia and she was working as an assembler of baseballs.

She married Harry Camp Sowden in 1925 and they had one child, Harry Edward Sowden, Sr.

The 1930 census showed Louise and Harry living at 2739 Front Street in Philadelphia.

Louise and Harry were divorced prior to 1940. In the census of that year, Louise was living with her parents at 1312 East Hewson Street in Philadelphia. She was working as a dressmaker in the dress industry earning $600 per year.

She died on September 29, 1992 at the age of 88.
