This is probably a portrait of August Heiden's half-sister, Friedericka Sophia Henrietta Johanna (Heiden) Schmidt with two of her grandchildren. The girl on the left may be Emile Dahme who, along with her mother, Marie Rudolphine Johanne Auguste Dohmstrich, sent letters to Rika (Knaack) Heiden in Michigan during the 1920's. Friedericka died in 1900 at the age of 67 so this picture was probably taken in the late 1890's.

This was included in a box of German documents which pertained to the emmigration of August and Rika (Knaack) Heiden. They were in the attic at my great aunt, Agnes (Brockman) Heiden's house in 1972.
