This is probably a portrait of
August Heiden's half-sister,
Friedericka
Sophia Henrietta Johanna (Heiden) Schmidt with two of her grandchildren.
The girl on the left may be
Emile Dahme
who, along with her mother,
Marie Rudolphine Johanne Auguste
Dohmstrich, sent
letters to Rika (Knaack) Heiden in Michigan during the 1920's.
Friedericka died in 1900 at the age of 67 so this picture was
probably taken in the late 1890's.
This was included in a
box of German documents which pertained to the emmigration of
August and Rika (Knaack) Heiden. They were in the attic at my great aunt,
Agnes (Brockman) Heiden's house in 1972.
Shown below is the back of the picture
with the name and location of the photographer. |
