Lewis John Heiden was born February 26, 1901 as the first child of Herman and Reka (Rambow) Heiden. He was born while the family lived on Cass Street in Dundee, Michigan and moved north with the family to Isabella County in 1915.

On September 1, 1923, he married Zina Lulu Robinson in Alma, Michigan. She was born January 10, 1903 in Rapid City, Kalkaska County, Michigan. She and Lewis had 8 children.

Lewis and Zina moved to Lansing, Michigan where he worked for the Sealtest Company in dairy product processing.

In 1963, they were living in Lake George in Clare County, Michigan where Lewis died on July 26, 1975. He was 74 years old and is buried in East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos near Lansing.

Zina died at the age of 76 in Okemos in Ingham County, Michigan on November 6, 1979 and is also buried at East Lawn Memory Gardens.

Herman and Fredareka Heiden were living on Cass Street in Dundee, Michigan with their children Lewis (9) and Nellie (3).
Lewis (18) is living with his parents, Herman and Fredareka Heiden on the home farm in Chippewa Township, Isabella County, Michigan. His sisters Nellie (12) and Bertha (18 months) lived there also.
Lewis (29) and Zina (27) were living on a rented farm in Vernon Township, Isabella County, Michigan. With them were their children, Herman D. (6), Betty (3) and Virginia (2).
Lewis (39) and Zina (37) were living in Bengal Township, Clinton County, Michigan. (Note: This is just north of Lansing.) They lived on West Park Street with their children Herman D. (16), Betty (13), Virginia (12), Benny (10), Edward (6), Laura (4) and Althea (2). Lewis is listed as a high school graduate.
At this time, Lewis (49) and Zina (47) were living in Lansing, Michigan with children, Betty (22), Benny (19), Edward (16), and Laura (13). Lewis is listed as working for a local dairy company, Betty is a cafeteria worker and Benny is a truck driver.
