Galen Henry Berns was born at the family home in Grape, Michigan on Wednesday, January 28, 1948 as the first child of Lavern and Hildegarde  "Sallie" (Andrews) Berns.

He graduated from Dundee High School in 1966 and worked as a Press Operator at Ford Motor Co. in Saline. He retired in 2002 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing euchre.

In 1968 on June 15th, he married Veronica Sue Krajcar in a ceremony at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ida. They lived in Tecumseh and had three children.

On February 20, 2020, Galen died at Promedica Bixby Hospital in Adrian, Michigan. He was 72 years old.
