Heinrich Christoph Jochim Rambow, Sr. was born on June 12, 1799 in Gross Wokern, Germany.

On November 8, 1839, he married Elisabeth Catharina Friederike Müller in Neukalen, Germany.

He died in May, 1867 in Gross Wokern of asthma and pulmonary congestion.

They had at least seven children:

  1. Maria Sophia Dorothea Rambow (1838-1842)

  2. Heinrich Ernst Carl Dietrich Rambow (1840-1918) who was father of Mary (Rambow) Heiden and Fredericka (Rambow) Heiden.

  3. Julianna Maria Dorothea Rambow (1845-1853)

  4. Johanna Henrietta Dorothea Dibbert (1849-1931)

  5. Friedrich Wilhelm Rambow (1852-1917)

  6. Henrietta Wilhelmine Maria Rambow (1853-1853)

  7. Joachim Gottfried Rambow (1855-1907)

There are four men named either Heinrich or Henry Rambow. One is listed as Henry Martin Rambow III. If this is true, technically that would make his father Heinrich Ernst Rambow, Jr. (right) and his grandfather, Heinrich Christoph Rambow, Sr. This deviates from the traditional naming rules where a Sr, Jr and III would have the same middle names too.

Although  we did not find any references using these suffixes, we will use them to try to help keep things straight among these four people.

The fourth person is Henry John Rambow, son of Alvin Rambow and grandson of Henry, III. Oh, well...another of those quirks found in genealogical research.
