Elsie Anna (Burgard0 Dentel was born February 5, 1899 as the first child of Bertha (Rambow) and William Burgard. She was born at their house in Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Michigan.

She married Harrison Elmer Dentel on August 18, 1926. They had two children.


Harrison was the long-time teacher at Bridge School who taught many of the Heiden and Rambow children in the 1920's and 30's. Prior to that, he had been a Private in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was born October 26, 1893 and died on September 14, 1988 at the age of 94.

Elsie died on July 13, 1989 at the age of 90 and is buried along with Harrison in Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.

Harrison Dentel (26) was living with his parents on Dentel Road near Ida, Michigan. He was listed as a high school teacher.

 Elsie (31) and Harrison (36) were living with her parents, William (58) and Bertha (58) Burgard. Elsie's daughter, Shirley Mae was one year old. Arthur Burgard (29) was also living at the farm.

Living at 2540 Lewis Avenue in Ida, Elsie (41) and Harrison (46) had two children, Shirley Mae (11) and Dale (3). Harrison is listed as having completed 2 years of college.

Still at 2540 Lewis Avenue, the family consisted of Elsie (50), Harrison (56) and son, Dale (13).
