Elsie Anna (Burgard0 Dentel was born February 5, 1899 as the first child of Bertha (Rambow) and William Burgard. She was born at their house on the centennial farm at 11609 S. Custer Road in Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Michigan.

She married Harrison Elmer Dentel on August 18, 1926. They had two children.


Harrison was the long-time teacher at Bridge School who taught many of the Heiden and Rambow children in the 1920's and 30's. He taught for a total of 38 years with 19 of them at Bridge School. He and Elsie also owned and operated the Dentel Insurance agency in Ida.

Prior to that, he had been a Private in the U.S. Army during World War I where he served in the intelligence service in Mihiel, France. He was injured by mustard gas.

Harrison was born October 26, 1893 and died on September 14, 1988 at the age of 94.

Elsie died on July 13, 1989 at the age of 90 and is buried along with Harrison in Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio. At the time of her death, they had 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Harrison Dentel (26) was living with his parents on Dentel Road near Ida, Michigan. He was listed as a high school teacher.

 Elsie (31) and Harrison (36) were living with her parents, William (58) and Bertha (58) Burgard. Elsie's daughter, Shirley Mae was one year old. Arthur Burgard (29) was also living at the farm.

Living at 2540 Lewis Avenue in Ida, Elsie (41) and Harrison (46) had two children, Shirley Mae (11) and Dale (3). Harrison is listed as having completed 2 years of college.

Still at 2540 Lewis Avenue, the family consisted of Elsie (50), Harrison (56) and son, Dale (13).
