Stanley Richard Toburen was born in Dundee, Michigan on August 20, 1939 as the third child of Charles and Forence (Roggeman) Toburen.

According to the 1950 census, he lived with his family on Ann Arbor Road north of Dundee. In 1952, they moved to 12330 Dixon Road in Dundee Township. As an adult, Stanley lived primarily in Arizona.

On February 13, 1960, he married Roberta Sue Lowery who was born August 16, 1943. They had two boys and two girls.

Stanley died on March 10, 2016 in Arizona at the age of 76. Roberta passed away on November 4, 2016 in Safford, Arizona at the age of 73.
