IDA, April 4 - Funeral services for Mrs. Wilhelmina
Rambow, aged. 88 years, who died Sunday at her farm
home in
Raisinville Township, were held Wednesday
afternoon at the home at 1:30 p.m. and in the St.
Matthew's Lutheran Church at Raisinville, at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Harry Long officiated.
Mrs. Rambow was born December 1, 1847 in
Mecklenburg, Germany. She married Henry Rambow there
November 8, 1868, and the couple with two children
came to America in 1874. They settled in Monroe
county, where they lived the rest of their lives.
Mr. Rambow died several years ago.
Her
survivors include three sons, Fred of Monroe, Henry,
jr., of Britton, and William at home; four
daughters, Mrs. William Burgard, Mrs. William Heiden,
Mrs.
Herman Heiden of Shepherd and Minnie, at home;
two brothers, Fred Milhan of
Raisinville Township
and William Milhanof Chicago; one sister, Mrs.
Christ Brooker of Dundee; and 26 grandchildren and
33 greatgrandchildren.
Burial took place in St. Matthew's cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Earl Rambow, Henry
Rambow, jr.,
Arthur Burgard and Lewis, Lester and
Leo Heiden. Relatives and friends who came from a
distance to attend the funeral included Mrs. Herman
Heiden and daughter Bertha, Mr. and Mrs. Chester
Aires and daughter Evelyn, all of Shepherd; Lewis
Heiden of St. Johns, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil
Fuller of Elkhart, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Dibbert, William Dibbert and Mr. and Mrs. John Jones
and daughter Lucile of Manitou Beach; Mr. and Mrs.
Slink of Toledo; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rambow and
family of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rambow of
Wyandotte; Mrs. R.J. Stange and Mrs. J.O. Root of
Adrian; and Miss Freda Benzin of Ann Arbor. |
RAISINVILLE LADY DIES ON SUNDAY
Mrs. Wilhelmina (Milhan) Rambow, ages 88
years, died Sunday evening at her home on the South
Custer road. She had been ill about two weeks. She
was the widow of Henry Rambow.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the home and at 2 o'clock
in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at Raisinville. The
Rev. Harry Long, pastor, officiated. Burial took
place in St. Matthew's cemetery.
Besides her immediate family, a
sister, Mrs. Chris. Brooker of Dundee also survives.
