 Elmer John Heiden
was born February 31, 1909 as the fifth child of
Ernst "Ernest" and Anna (Knack) Heiden.
He was born at the family home at
8925 South Custer Road.
He
attended the one-room Fonia School which was located about a mile
or so away at 11411 Trost Road through the 8th grade. Along with
his brother, Walter, he was employed by Amendt Milling in
Monroe, Michigan for 24 years before retiring in 1974. For much
of his adult life, he lived with Walter's family at homes on
Nieman and
Alford Roads in
Dundee Township
Elmer never married and had no
children.
On December 24, 1981, he died at St Vincent Hospital in Toledo,
Ohio at the age of 72. He is buried at the
St
Matthew Lutheran Church
cemetery in
Raisinville Township.
