Freidrich L. "Fred" Rambow was born December 25, 1869 in Gross Wokern, Germany. He was the first child of Heinrich and Wilhelmina (Milhan) Rambow and came with them to America in 1874.

He married Emma Louise Westpfahl on December 23, 1898.

Friedrich died on October 3, 1959 at 89 years of age.. Emma who was born December 30, 1877 in Mecklenburg, Germany and she died on February 8, 1962. She was 84 at the time of her death.

They had three children, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren at the time of their deaths.

Heinrich (40), Minnie (32), Frederick (11), "Betty" (8), Henry (5) and Mary (2) lived in Dundee Township. Heinrich was listed as a laborer.

Note: Betty is actually Bertha.

On January 10, 1921, a fire in the Commerce Department building, Washington, DC, resulted in the destruction of most of the 1890 census.

Fred (30) and Emma (22) were living in Raisinville Township with their daughter, Esther (7 months). They had a boarder named Loretta Riley who was 20 years old. This was a rented farm.

Fred (40) and his wife, Emma (32) lived on a farm in Raisinville Township with their children Esther (10) and Henry F. (<1). August Miller is listed as a servant i.e. farm worker.

Note: This was next door to the George Opfermann farm.

The family was living on "River Road" with their son Henry. F. was now 11 years old.

They were living on Rambow Drive and the family consisted of Fred (60) and Emma (52) along with their son Henry F. (21) with his wife, Helen Weaver (24) and their child, Carola (2 months). Helen's children Gilbert (3 yrs, 10 months) and Arthur (2 years 11 months) Weaver. Helen and all three children were listed as having been mother's born in the Philippine Islands

Fred (70) and Emma (62) were living alone at 2041 Rambow Drive. He was listed as a janitor at a school and a farmer.

Fred (80) and Emma (72) were living alone at 2041 Rambow Drive.

Note: Other sources say that they lived here from 1913 to 1954 when they moved to Ida. At the time of Fred's death in 1959, he was living with his daughter, Esther (Rambow) Miller.

Fred and Emma were living in Raisiinville Township with their 2 children and working a 100 acre farm that they owned. They had 3 horses and 2 cows and a telephone.
