In March of 1985, Monita Fergus published a book on the history of the Getty Family titled, "A Bit O' Yesterday". This family is related to the Heiden Family through Mildred (Roggerman) Heiden, her cousin,  Florence Toburen and her son, Gordon who was married to Wm Frank Heiden's daughter, Carol.

John Getty, Sr. who was born about 1788 in the small town of Ballynafie in the Parish of Portglenone in what is now Northern Ireland is the earliest ancestor that we have for the Gettys. Projecting the ancestors chart out to a child born in 2010 would account for ten generations and would make John that person's seventh great grandfather.
