The Laas Family is related to members of the Heiden Family through Rika (Knaack) Heiden,
wife of August Heiden. Rika was first
cousin of Dorothea (Roggelein) Laas and
they were instrumental in the Heidens
settling in Monroe County in 1873. Laas
family members attended Heiden Reunions
through most of the 20th century.
